What is the care complex?
The Care Complex is an idea that would change the lives and futures of thousands of children in Massachusetts. It is a building to which every foster child in the state of Massachusetts over the age of 5 would be required to go to at least once every two months to talk to a counselor about their life in foster homes. If the children feel uncomfortable talking to a counselor but are experiencing abuse, we'll have anonymous abuse forms available. To the foster home of any child under 4, we will be sending out representatives from the care complex to check up on their home life and their development. Our complex will also set up a better system of background checks and matching children with homes, so we can assure the children are going to a safe family they will be compatible with. Inside the Care Complex, we will set up a system of foster parent/child bonding activities, such as games and challenges in which the foster parent and the foster child must work together and ultimately learn more about each other and become more comfortable with one another.
