Why did they fight?

The Civil War consisted of a fight between North and South. They fought because the North wanted to abolish slaves from the South, but the South opposed that idea. People thought that the government could do better, and also participate more in the decision. Some people from the North believed that the African American's deserved the same rights as white's. People thought that the rights for African's we're only to be freed from slavery. But they also believed that the Colored, should be separated from the white's inside the society.
