Thinking Outside the Box

Edwin Hubble was the first person to prove that the universe is constantly expanding, by identifying nebulae outside of the Milky Way. He was then able to measure the distances, and the changes in the differences, between galaxies, in order to prove that the universe was in motion and expanding.

Albert Einstein had theorized this possibility but had rescinded the idea, thinking it was too impossible to be true. He later thanked Hubble for making the discovery.
