Saltwater: What Does It Identify As, and Why Did We Receive These Results?
The saltwater in this experiment was the hypertonic solution, meaning that there was a higher concentration of solutes in the solution. With both vegetables, this caused water to diffuse out of the cell, making it more flimsy and weak (this also caused a rubbery effect) due to the greater concentration of solutes than what is normal for both the cucumber and potato.
