Lab Setup and Protocol

In this lab, 18 test tubes were set out to conduct the experiment. Out of the eighteen, there were three test tubes that had 0 moles, .2 moles, .4 moles, .6 moles, .8 moles, or 1 mole of solutes concentrated in water. In each set of test tubes, there were either sweet potatoes, regular potatoes, or beets (squash was also a choice, but we chose to use beets in the experiment) placed in each test tube after the mass of each was measured. Once the set up of the experiment was completed and started, and period of 24 hours was passed until the vegetables were removed. After removal, the mass was weighed once again to observe its change that occurred over the period of time.
