There was a work force that was made up entirely of unmarried farm girls. They lived in mill towns all across New England. In these mill houses, the slave girls had very strict curfews. These slave girls made up most of the work force by 1828. These women were not even older than the age of 30. The conditions for these workers got even worse during the 1830's.
