The Great Awakening was a religious movement that began the idea of individualism and responsibility. The Christian churches disagreed with their ideas, but over 20,000 people came together to be apart of this gathering. This gathering was know as a revival, which was a meeting designed to awaken religious faith through preaching and prayer.
