Page 62: CTQ #2- Some antibiotics act by binding to certain essential enzymes in the target bacteria. How might these antibiotics influence the chemical reactions controlled by the enzymes? What is the anticipated effect on the bacteria? On the person taking the antibiotic prescription?
-The antibiotic will stop the function of the enzyme and since the enzyme is what encourages the bacterial growth then it will be stopped and the bacteria will die.
-The anticipated effect that the antibiotic would have on the bacteria is to kill it or keep it from continuing to replicate and stop the growth of the virus to let the immune system get better.
