Bryce Misjudging Juli

Though Bryce misjudged Juli in all of the book, it is always the same type of misjudgment. He acts like a twin of his dad and his friend, Garret, and is quite vain and superficial. These original qualities of his are the cause of his thoughts on Juli. In the first chapter, he claims," All I ever wanted was for Juli Baker to leave me alone." and,"...the girl cannot take a hint." This proves he has no care of her true intentions to help him out at first, and he just immediately doesn't like her without true reason. When his grandfather tried to get him out of this blanket of false ideas, he decided to keep being blind. He remarked,"That girl is a royal pain. She's a show off and she is pushy beyond belief!" Bryce's grandfather shows the reality with, "That girl has an iron backbone." and "Why isn't she your friend, Bryce?" Though given a new window to look through, Bryce shatters it and continues to dislike Juli , even commenting during the egg incident how her house was a mess. Though he did such a comment, he felt guilty which shows he is a little less blind now and understands he misjudged her at a small scale. His grandfather confronts him about this and says, "A person's character is set at an early age." which comes of importance when he finally realizes how he could have ended up as his dad when it came to opinions on others. Later on, he reads an article meant to unblinded him of these false opinions given by his grandfather on Juli. He starts to see Juli's true beauty and even ponders on the thought,"How can she sit there and look so..... beautiful?" He realizes there is more to Juli and thinks at how he misjudged her. He even questioned if she changed but realized he had instead with his grandfather's help, who unblinded him from his false thoughts on Juli.
