A Case of the Juli Syndrome
In the article,"Misjudging Others," the author describes how people like us are always making assumptions about something in the beginning. She uses the example of a person in fancy clothes walking fast possibly being late for a meeting as one assumption or misjudgment made by someone. After introducing how humans do it often, she uses the example of how she once had a crush on a boy. She shows a feeling of finding him handsome and making this imaginary idea that he was smart, funny, and caring. After finding out his true nature, the author claims she found him a jerk with corny punch lines who flirted with any girl in sight, and she started to not converse with him often. The article ends off with showing misjudgment as human nature and giving the idea that us humans always make an assumption about someone because of our want to be correct and our curiosity.
