In the North Slavery wasn't near as popular as in the South. In the North Kids went to school and learned. In the North instead of slaves they used factories which were worked by immigrants from Europe for labor. The transportation was also a lot easier in the North than in the South due to it's geography. In the North, industry flourished, they also had much more abundant resources than the south along with many large popular cities such as New York City. People in the North liked to write letters, and music was very popular in that area.
