Soldiers who fought in the war usually suffered from deadly bullet wounds which usually ends with death, Infected wounds, and diseases. Doctors usually had to do surgery on wounded soldiers who got shot and they would have to take out the bullet to stop infection. Due to new inventions of guns and other weapons there became more casualties than normal. There were also nurses during the war who helped soldiers endure the pain and they gave them medicine to help the soldiers get through their surgery. There were hospitals in the Civil War but they were usually small tents which were located in safe areas. They occupied nurses, doctors, and wounded soldiers, and they were small and over crowded.
