Economic Balance in the Civil War
The schools in the 1860's were usually pretty small and several grade levels were taught in a single classroom. No there were not colleges at the time, the closest to a college was an academy which was usually attended by rich people. A lot of Christians and Catholics attended to churches in both the North and the South.
In the south farmers grew corn, indigo, tobacco, and cotton. The south used slaves mainly to produce cotton. The north has much better leadership and transportation than the south but the south are a more richer area due to slaves and their greed for cotton.
