Slavery in the south was very normal and people didn't care if it was wrong or not all they cared about was money, money, money. The greed over there was extreme they treated their slaves like animals. Many slaves tried to run but if they were found they would be sent back to their leader and tortured or killed. Some people who played a role as abolitionists were Arthur Tappan, David Walker, Elizur Wright, and many others.
