All this was said to be Abner Doubleday's fault. Who was Doubleday? Doubleday was a career military hero in the Civil War. He was born on June 26, 1819 in New York. He had minor fame as the inventor of baseball. But that theory was SOOOOOOOOOO wrong. But what he did do is fire the first shot in defense for Fort Sumter and played a pivotal role in the Battle of Gettysburg.
