Before Jackie Robinson was the first black player in MLB, there was a league called the Negro League. Nowadays, that league is long lost and forbidden. The Negro League was the division that held all black players. Probably the most known black players were Jackie Robinson and Roy Campanella. Negro League was founded in 1920 by a man named Rubè Foster. He was a pioneer, manager of the Chicago American Giants, and played for the Cuban X-Giants. The X-Giants were one of the best teams in its league. Jackie Robinson was one of the best players in the league. He signed a contract with the Kansas City Monarchs and got #9. In one of his games, he stole home in a unique way: he barreled right over the catcher. Jackie was so good in the Negro's that he got a contract with the Brooklyn Dodgers. He got #42. At first, NONE of his teammates liked him. His first real friend on the team was Pee Wee Reese. He always gave Robinson good attitudes.
