Newborn Screening test:
-heel prick test where blood is dropped onto 5 spots on a piece of paper
-mandated by the State of California
-identifies over 70 treatable disorders before they cause serious health issues
-baby should be at least 12 hours old but no older than 6 days old for testing

Hepatitis B Vaccine:
-hepatitis B is a liver disease that results from infection with the hepatitis virus
-vaccine is routinely given after birth

How does Hepatitis B spread?
-birth from an infected mother
-sharing needles, bite from infected person, etc.
