Water Displacement and Graduated Cylinders

You use a graduated cylinder to find the volume of irregular shaped objects.

Water Displacement:

Water displacement method is needed when you need to find the volume of an irregularly shaped object.

Method:

1.) pour water into a graduated cylinder

2.) measure how high the water is

3.) place the irregularly shaped object in the cylinder and water

4.) measure how high the water is now

5.) record data for each and then subtract the original water height from the water with the shape's
