Speed
Definition- the rate at which someone or something is able to move or operate.
Speed is calculated by: dividing the distance something traveled by how much time it took to get there
Speed is usually expressed in miles per hour. (mph)
Acceleration is the increase in speed.
For instance:
Say Sally was riding her bike down her driveway. Her driveway is 20 ft long. She recorded the time it took for her to cross the end. It took her 15 seconds.
To find Sally's speed on her bike I would divide 20 by 15.
