Methods Used to Set Up a Sterile Tray
Large call outs are Helvectica Neue and set at 20pt in a shade of jade
• Use of prepackaged sterile setup
– Wrapped in disposable sterilization paper/muslin
– Prepared by medical office through autoclave
sterilization
– Packaged open on flat surface such as a mayo tray
– Inside of wrapped package is sterile, serves as a sterile field
– Peel apart packages flipped onto sterile field or placed on field using a sterile gloved hand

Sterilization
• Place all necessary articles on sterile field by flipping them onto sterile field from peel-apart packages
• Place sterile towel over mayo tray
– Must be handled using corners
– Must not be fanned through air, but laid down gently and slowly to prevent airborne contamination
