Interpretation

The tree in the foreground forms a diagonal line up to the right. Natural shapes and forms are used. Trees have a rough texture and the sky looks smooth. Contrast is shown through shadow and darkness of moss and trees. The illusion of space is shown through trees and plants in the middle and background.

These elements make the painting seem more realistic and as if it was a photograph. Nature is never symmetrical, which is shown through this painting. The elements show the unforgiving laws of nature and how anything can happen because of it.

Judgement

I feel drawn into this painting and it seems as if I am in it because of the texture of the trees and the proportion of which they were painted.

This work is very interesting to observe because of the texture and realism of the piece. Every time I look at it, I notice something new.

I think the artist has been successful in communicating what he wanted to come across. He showed the brutality of nature and the spontaneity of the outdoors.
