Interpretation

1.

Line is used to define the horizon and shore lines. Many natural shapes are used, and texture helps the pictures look real. Different colors show shadows and depth and positive and negative is used throughout the painting.

2.

These elements help me interpret this painting in a different way. Instead of looking like the actual place, it portrays the feeling of calmness and serenity. I don't feel as if I am actually standing at the scene of this painting, but it still affects me from where I am. Nothing really concerns me about this painting because I feel as if everything is flowing perfectly and working off each other.

3.

I feel drawn into this work, but not the actual place. I feel calm and serene, as if I've been there before and am reliving a happy memory. I'm drawn more into the feeling than the place.

This work is very interesting and draws me in. The trees seem unique in shape and size. This work seems sleepy and calm.

I think the artist communicated his work very well and makes the viewer feel calm and peaceful. I like looking at this work because it creates a sensation of serenity.
