-In 800 BC, Aryans learned to make tools of iron
-Tribes were led by RAJAHS (tribe chiefs)
-Rajahs were the most skilled war leader and were chosen by an assembly of warriors
-Rajahs often fought for trade control and territory over the Ganges Plain
