Interpretation:

1. Shape: repetition of triangles all over piece, all different shapes and sizes

-on center rectangular beam, they make an 'x' pattern

I think this piece has similar qualities to the previous piece, with its simplicity and softness, but hint of pattern. However, it's rich color and shine adds more of a vibrancy and individualism. I think this portrays the strong love the ashanti people had for their nation. There is a sense of purity in the simplicity of the stool, a quality the ashanti seen to possess. I decided to use the 'x' design on the beam in the center of my piece, but put my own spin on it.

Judgement: i think this piece is interesting and and involving for viewers. Like the previous piece, it has such a unique form and leaves you wondering its purpose and origin.  It's unique patterns and bold color are visually very intriguing. All in all, the artist successfully communicated the ideas of the ashanti, while creating an individualized piece too.
