Saint Vincent De Paul was born around the years of 1580 and 1581 out of a small village of Pouy in Gascony, France. During his time of birth, Europe as a whole was in a time of turbulence. The 30 years war was taking place, including France, amongst other major powers of Europe. Many were poor and left devastated by the war.
