Mexican War
The Mexican-American War (1846-1848) was a war between the United States and Mexico over the land near the Pacific Ocean. It caused a series of battles that led to many U.S. victories. Many of these victories were because of Mexico's vulnerable army and the United States eagerness for more land across the continent. The aftermath of the war caused Mexico to lose one third of their land and the United States to gain the land now known as present day California, Utah,Nevada, Arizona, and New Mexico.
