•Herbivores can be large and small
•Animals that are hunted by other animals are called preys. Animals that hunt animals are called predators
•Many herbivores stay together to stay safe from predators
•Each fall and winter,thousands of leaves fall to the forest floor also some trees. Yet some of this plant material is gone by following spring. Who or what is responsible for the cleanup? Decomposers are the ones who clean up.
•Decomposers break down organisms so other plants can use the nutrients as well
•There are many different decomposers that break down different organisms
•Decomposers can break down both plants and animals
•Animals can also help decomposers
