The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas is a book about the holocaust. A young boy named Bruno comes home from school one day to see his whole family packing their suit cases. He asks his mother why they are packing. She says that his father got a promotion and they had to leave Berlin. He didn't want to leave, because he loves the house in Berlin. He loves all five floors of it, and the banister he slides down to get to the bottom, but most of all he is going to miss Karl, Daniel, and Martin which are his three best friends for life.
