The Protestant Reformation started with the Catholic Church and the people that thought the church was wrong in their ways. The word protestant comes for the prefix protest and reformation comes from the prefix reform or fix. These protesters thought that the church wasn't involved with the church as much as the rest of the world. This began the reformation.
