The Paris Peace Conference and the Treaty of Versailles

The Paris Peace conference was a meeting of counties to establish peace after the war. The 'big four' (Great Britain, France, United States, and Italy) made the decisions for the Treaty of Versailles which is the document that articulates the compromises that were made at the conference (The Paris).David Lloyd George was the spokesperson for England and his aims for this conference was based on the countries unity, interest, and security. England wanted security for France, punishing Germany, accepting the League of Nations, and to set territorial disputes in a secure way that was favorable for England. Since Germany was a big topic at this conference, England agreed with most of the punishments, but thought that Germany shouldn't lose land or become part of he western Rhine. They also wanted to be certain that they would obtain security that Germany will not attack them. (Silvapages)
