King George V
King George V was King of England from 1911-1936. He declared War on Germany in 1914 because of his anger for the assassination of Archduke Ferdinand and Germany wanting to travel through Belgium. Conflict between his cousin Kaiser Willhelm II was immense because King George V wanted a purely british monarchy. After Kaiser Willhelm II died, he made it his mission. He kept England safe in WWI with 3 major decisions. First, he denied his cousin whom was a Russian Tsar refuge because it would make it seem like the royal family had something to hide. Secondly, he made the decision to not allow any children of the monarchy to uphold the title prince or princess. Lastly, he changed the ruling house from "The House of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha",which is German, to "Windsor" because it was more british.
