Why did it happen?

The gold rush happened for many reasons. The first reason is many wanted wealth. Once they heard there was gold many traveled from all around the world to be wealthy.The second reason is everyone thought when they reach California they will be very rich and make a great living, but many were not. Very small amount of people made a great living and discovered very much gold. Fortunately, some people found significant amounts of gold and made a great living.
