Transcontinental Railroad vs. Great Wall of China

The Great Wall of China is a great example of comparing the Transcontinental Railroad to, for many reasons. First of all, both took much very much labor and numerous of workers died. Both stretched over a vast, long area of land. In the Transcontinental Railroad Chinese workers were brought to built it because of the great knowledge for building the wall. The purpose of building the wall was to protect the Chinese Empire and to defend themselves from invaders. The purpose of the railroad was to carry travelers across the country. Despite their purpose both played a significant role in their history which created great advancements to the world.
