Who was involved?
Many people where involved in the California Gold Rush, including people from countries like China, Mexico, Peru, Britain, South America, Europe, Australia, Chile, and Hawaii. Many people played a significant role in the California Gold Rush including James Marshall, who discovered the first gold, Charles H. Bennett, who was present at the first discovery of gold, George McKnight, who discovered gold at Gold Hill near Grass Valley, California in 1850, Lester Allen Hilton, inventor of the Pelton runner (considered father of hydroelectric power), Joshua Norton, emperor of the United States and protector of Mexico. Other people who were involved were Seth Kinman, James Lick, James Adams, Charles Crocker, Thomas Fallon, O. C. Hackett, John Sutter, and Bella Wellman. The California gold rush involved many thousands of people, but some, as one can see, made a significant role.
