William Clark Styron Jr. Born June 11, 1925 and died November 1, 2006.
Wrote from African American perspective.
Throughout his life, he had a very good education, he went to a catholic school his whole life, and then graduated to Duke University.
Though he had a good education, he had a hard childhood. His mother died at a young age, and he was diagnosed with depression.
"The writer's duty is to keep on writing"
While writing the "Confessions of Nat Turner", he warped the tragic tale of violence and death into one of romance, making many people unset.
