Lightning and toning application. 

apply protective creme to guests face around hairline. section hair into 4 quadrants. mix your product. start in the back right quadrant. take a 1/4'' diagonal subsection and lay it over your gloved hand. avoid scalp area and work from midlengths to ends. 

turn hair  over to apply formula to both sides of the subsection remembering to saturate hair. 

lay covered subsection on the foil covering neck. working upword, turn subsection a little toward the ear so in the end you will finish with a vertical subsection at the end of the quadrant. apply more product as needed remembering to go back and check subs for saturated product. 

repeat process in back left quadrant. the back quads are now finished scalp are left untouched with product.

 now work product toward front hairline repeating the same process as before in the front right and left quadrants. now check to see if the midlengths and ends are half way to the desired level of lightning. use NRP chart. 

use a towel to wipe of product in a subsection to observe the level and tone so far. check for even results of lightning. reaply formula is sufficient lighting has not occured. 

check subs frequently. product application to the scalp: mix new batch of same formula. in the back right quadrant start the scalp application by first outlining the quadrant with color overlapping color with previously applied formula. separate diagonal subsections. 

apply formula to scalp then refresh the rest of the subsection by going all the way down with formula working it into the hair. 

move to the back left and right quadrants and repeat process. 

then when back quadrants are complete outline the front right quadrant. 

seperate vertical subsections and start working product in at the scalp. repeat previous steps from the back quadrants. 

remember to do a strand test by wiping off color with a towel in a subsection and observe color development while its processing. let color fully develop. that the desired stage Lightning and toning application. of NRP rinse out color shampooing twice. do not condition hair before toning. 

Toner application: towel dry after shampooing leaving hair slightly damp. reaply protective cream on hairline. divide hair into 4 quadrants. begin at back right quadrant and outline it with the second formula. take diagonal subs from the nape. work up through quadrants. apply formula at both sides of part at the scalp. repeat process in back left quadrant. repeat in the front quadrants except make vertical subs instead of diagonal. then go back and apply the second formula to the midlengths and ends. processing time can take 1 to 30 mins so perform a strand test to see.
