Ziggurat

In most Sumerian cities stood a mud brick building called a ziggurat. Ziggurats show the importance of religion in Sumerian life. Ziggurats were used for a work center, government center, store house, and a worship center. Only priest were permitted on the ziggurat or in the base rooms.
