The Sumerians first invented the wheel. It got them to places they wanted to go to quickly. Mesopotamians first used the wheel on farm carts and war chariots. As time past Mesopotamians found other ways of using the wheel. The wheel was used to trade and for traveling. That is why the wheel is so important. The first wheel was made up of clay, mud, and rocks. The wheel was a cylinder shape that rolls.
