This ad promoting war bonds is an example of transfer because a well known person, Betsy Ross, who obviously contributed to the country is promoting for people to invest money for the war. This is associating the idea of bonds with a positive historical figure which makes you want to buy a bond. In the background, there is a picture of a sea with men dying in it, which is an example of pathos, because you want to help the other men at war. It is also calling to women, which is another way it pathos, because it might make empower women to buy a bond/ help their country by using an important female historical figure.
