A New Path
Mother Teresa was a good teacher, and seemed happy in her position. However, this changed September 10, 1946, when Christ spoke to Mother Teresa, telling her to leave teaching, and work in the slums, aiding those the most in need. Mother Teresa says that she heard Christ say to her, "You are I know the most incapable person- weak and sinful but just because you are that- I want to use You for My glory. Wilt thou refuse?"
Mother Teresa began lobbying for permission to leave her convent, and after a year and a half, she was granted approval to leave. This was when she began to wear the white and blue Sari which she would wear for the the rest of her life.
