Balance

Balance in an outfit can go two ways. It can be symmetrical or asymmetrical. If the garment is symmetrical that means it'll be equal on both sides when spilt down the middle vertically and will be proportioned the same. This gives a garment a cleaner look than an asymmetrical garment would have. An asymmetrical garment is a garment that is not equal if spilt down the middle in a vertical way and not proportioned equally. Asymmetrical garments may have a messier look to it depending on if you want to be precise on equality of garment.

The outfits below are asymmetrical because they are not equal on both sides if they were split down the middle vertically.

The outfits above are symmetrical because if we were to split them down the middle vertically they would be equal and balanced on both sides.
