Rhythm

Rhythm is also a very important thing to have in an outfit. If the outfit or garment has rhythm, then the human eye will move throughout the piece naturally from the focal point. Rhythm is done by repitition, alternation, transition, and progression. Alternating and progressive rhythm is achieved by repetition of a shape that changes in regular pattern. The repetition is accomplished throughout patterns. Rhythm can be completed with different lines, colors, edges, and shapes. Polyrhythmic garments are garments with more than one rhythm.

Rhythm in the outfit to the left is showed with the really dark part of the pattern of the dress being the focal point and letting the eye naturally looking over the whole dress.
