Most of the newly invented machines and devices during the Industrial Revolution, involved burning coal for power. First, they used water to help form steam powered machines. Later, they now use coal to create the steam. The steam engine ideas was more efficient because it required less work. Before humans and animals muscle power was used. Now a variety of machines were invented with the use of steam from the burning coal. The machines could take on as much work as several humans/animals, plus at a faster rate. Steam and coal as an energy source invented things such as high speed transportation; trains and steam boats. Machines took on work but yet created jobs. The steam and coal improved the economy during the industrial revolution, creations jobs and simplifying work.
