John Kay's Flying Shuttle
John Kay is an English mechanist and inventor who developed the flying shuttle; a device that helped take important steps towards automatic weaving. However, Kay did not benefit from the invention since the manufacturers refused to pay royalties on the flying shuttle. Because of the flying shuttle, other versions of spinning machines were created. This increased the production of yarn products and fabrics that were not weaned by human.
