Abstract art of food by Erin Jang
DESCRIBE:
Obvious recognizable shapes: squares, rectangles, ovals, cubes
Colors: The colors are bright and playful but they aren't fighting.
They are complementary colors (red and green).
Texture: There is smooth texture in the illustration.
Lines: The lines are smooth, plain and simple.
ANALYZE:
The shapes of food are repeated over and over again.
Although the painting is busy, it is balanced out and symmetrical because of the color choices and because the shapes are basic.
The pink cubes and the green rectangles of squiggly lines draw my eye in the most. The pink cubes because they are large in shape and the green rectangles because the color is bright and it pops.
The red background is very vibrant.
The little white circles are also interesting because of the skinny line in the center.
Symmetrical
Abstract feel to the painting
INTERPRET:
The work is a abstract drawing of the food the artist, Erin Jang, ate and enjoyed during her time in New York
It is a part of the series, "Food Sketches"
