Painting of corn by Dena Tollefson

DESCRIBE:
Obvious recognizable objects: kernels of corn
The lines are thin.
The shapes are little squares and rectangles.
Colors: yellow, green, royal blue
The background is royal blue.
The corn is yellow.
The stalk of the corn is green.
The corn is very real looking. The stalk is also realistic. They are realistic because of the texture.
ANALYZE:
The emphasis is on the kernels of corn.
The corn is big and takes up the majority of the painting.
The stalk is only in the background.
The background is blue.
The blue is a little bit faded so it keeps the emphasis on the corn.
The kernels of corn are repeated over and over again.
INTERPRET:
Dena Tollefson, the artist, paints corn a lot. She has a whole collection of art dedicated to corn.
The painting is serious but very fun at the same time.
