- prep hair by making sure it is completely dry
- part hair on the side
- section it and start in the nape of the neck and section it in panel taking a small amount of hair at a time
- rock iron toward you and place comb underneath panel of hair to manipulate more and create a prominent ridge
- repeat this down the panel alternating between rocking it forward and backward
- bring down another panel and grab some of the previous hair from the prior panel to direct them in the same way and form them ontop of each other and together
