Round Brush Styling
Choosing a brush:
- larger brushes create a larger curl, whereas a smaller brush creates a tighter pattern
- hair should be able to wrap at least 1&1/2-2 times around the brush for it to be a proper fit
Types of sets:
- hard set; uses hairspray directly after pinning to set and keep a tighter curl
- soft set; no hairspray used after pinning and keeps a looser, softer curl
- pre dry hair 80-90%
- section hair and begin in 1&2, working up
- blow in the base, rotating the brush in the same area, working downward and closing the cuticle
- direct air into the brush at the desired elevation (90* for standard volume, 45* for less volume)
- slide the brush through the mid shaft and mid ends to blow in the curl
- curl the hair all the way around the brush and blow down to reinforce the curl
- reshape the curl with fingers
- pin the curl to the scalp
