In the North, the industrial revolution had began, and it was well on its way to becoming a commercial and manufacturing economy with a more mechanized agriculture and greater industrialization. In the South, agriculture played the bigger roll in the economy, and the economic value of slaves was their most valuable asset, followed by their cotton industry.
Trade was more stronger then agriculture.
There were levels of people (classes), such as the poor, middle class, and rich.
