I think many artists have reflected upon this theme, human emotions, because it is something that was continuously felt and could not be ignored. Artists wanted to express what they were feeling in a way that more than one person could relate to.

In every age throughout time people have felt emotions, whether is was fear in times of war, or hope in times of peace and prosperity. So a painting from a particular time period may not just be expressing what the artist felt, it may also be depicting the general feelings the people of the time endured and what they valued.

Conclusion

Throughout time this topic had been addressed in artwork, and I think the reason for this is people use art as a way of expressing themselves. In this case they were expressing how they felt by using color, value, and contrast. The artists used figures to pinpoint one emotion. But emotions can not be subjected to one point in time, they have existed in people forever and because of this people continued and will contiue to express it as they wish.
